I love a beautiful pair of high heels as much as the next girl but to be completely honest, nothing speaks to my heart more than a pretty pair of flats. What’s not to love? They’re cute, comfy and you can wear them all day without wanting to murder someone by the time you get home. Lately I’ve been on the hunt for a super cute pair of pumps that will not only survive an entire season of everyday wear but also look ridiculously cute – believe it or not it’s a tall order. Which is why I was super excited to discover the awesomeness that is Cinnamon! The local shoe brand offers up precious pumps and boots that are just too lovely for words and you have to check them out.

The brand was started in October 2012 by Frances Koep who set about creating a collection for South African women that is internationally on trend, yet locally made and classically tailored to last. I absolutely love the whole collection but what I love most about Cinnamon’s range is that each and every pair of shoes is hand-made - which means you get a top-quality product each and every time. I also love that the range is mostly made using top quality materials like leather, linen, cotton and wool so you can be sure they’ll last more than a piffly two weeks of wear.

The Cinnamon range includes ankle boots, ballet pumps and slipper pumps in all sorts of colours and patterns to suit any taste. You’ll find everything from polka dots and animal print (for the more adventurous at heart) to plain pink, black and grey (for those who like a more subtle shoe). I’m simply smitten with the Hera Cinnamons (a woven wool ballerina pumps with a thin black leather trim, small leather toe cap and leather detail on the back – R850) as well as the Pomona Cinnamons (a polka dot printed leather ballerina pump with black leather trim and leather detail on the back – R1200). I’m also the proud owner of a pair of Cinnamon’s brown suede High Top Boots (R800) which I absolutely love. They’re super comfy and the workmanship on the boots is excellent.

The shoes range from R650 to R1200 in price, and while it may seem steep it’s completely worth it. They are so well made and you can tell that so much love went into their manufacturing. It’s also super cool knowing that the pair on your feet was hand-made just for you. If you’re keen to own your own pair of Cinnamons you can order them online through their website or through the Cinnamon Studio in Parktown, and the Charlotte's Studio in Sandton.
